CTS Coupe Review Round-up

June 24, 2010 - 7:00 am

Cadillac had their initial event for the press with the production version of the 2011 CTS Coupe.

As you may recall, the CTS-V Coupe will be coming out soon, but there will be a separate event for that launch sometime later.

The Coupe is the first 2011 Cadillac, and therefore will be the first with Cadillac’s new covered maintenance program.

So, let’s take a look at what the major outlets have to say about the new coupe:

Cadillac to un-drop 400-500 dealers

June 23, 2010 - 1:39 pm

During the GM bankruptcy of 2009, Cadillac decided to refocus its retail strategy on large markets, dropping what it considered to be excess dealers in many areas.

Well, the bankruptcy is over, and new management in charge of the sales role of Cadillac has decided that, while there are too many dealers in some urban areas, getting rid of dealers in smaller towns and forcing customers to travel to the city for sales and service isn’t the best plan.

So, Cadillac will be re-instating 400-500 dealers soon. This still leaves Cadillac with a leaner retail presence than before, but also means that many customers won’t have to drive quite as far to buy or service their cars.

Cadillac Dealers Putting on the Ritz

June 23, 2010 - 7:16 am

You may remember back in April we posted that Cadillac was looking at sending dealers to a course put on by Ritz-Carlton to help spiff up their customer service skills.

Cadillac proposed sales floorWell, the program is now on-going and we have some details as to what they are trying to accomplish and what dealers are being shown and told – courtesy of Automotive News.

First of all, Cadillac has recognized that there is a perception gap that needs to be overcome with regard to product – they ranked 8th of 12 upscale brands when buyers were asked if the product was ‘worth paying a premium for’. Also, Cadillac attracts a significantly older, less affluent buyer than BMW and Mercedes.

On the positive side, Cadillac ranks 2nd only to Lexus in customer satisfaction.

More of MonaroSS’s ATS renderings

June 22, 2010 - 4:30 pm

MonaroSS ATSIf you loved the sedan render that MonaroSS over at GMI put together, here is a link to his post that shows his take on what the coupe, convertible, and even a possible wagon version could look like.

I’d expect a wagon version to look a bit more like the current CTS Sport Wagon – but otherwise these seem so real that it almost feels like it would be a disappointment if Cadillac delivers anything less than what you see here.

So, take a look at what he has to offer over at:
