Detroit preview - Cadillac concept

January 9, 2009 - 6:57 pm

Rumors have started flying today of a Cadillac concept coupe that will see its debut this weekend at the Detroit autoshow.

The car is significant in a couple of ways:

1. It is expected to preview the size and styling of the BLS replacement built on the new Alpha rear-drive chassis.
2. It is also expected to pack a version of GM’s E-Flex series hybrid powertrain (like the Chevy Volt and the previous Cadillac Provoq concept).

Either way you look at it – this will be a very significant concept from Cadillac if the rumors end up being true.

Stand by for Cadillac’s press conference likely during GM’s 10am EST conference on Sunday.

Great news, Scott! Thanks for always keeping us informed with the latest Cadillac updates! If this concept materializes, it is a really significant car preview!

This article praises the styling, and says the Coupe will be smaller than the CTS model! Here is a link:

I just read a blurb that pegs the name of this concept as the ‘Converj’

We should know something by 10-10:30am EST on Sunday (Jan 11, 09).

Stay tuned.
