GMI News gets a full demo of CUE

GMInsideNews.com sat with a developer of the CUE system and were given an overview of the reconfigurable dash display, the gesture support of the new center stack display, as well as the touch sensitive controls and the haptic feedback.

Obviously still in development (they mention it’s ‘beta’ state more than once) but one of the better overviews of what we can expect of this system in the ATS, XTS, and refreshed SRX – all available this year.

After careful observation of the recent pictures release this week, that the ATS does not have the full-sized, re-configurable instrument cluster shown in this demo of the CUE system.

Since I find that this feature is one of the best aspects of the CUE system I am wondering why the ATS is hobbled with a rather mundane set of physical gauges and only a small, re-configurable Driver’s Information Center. I find this aspect of the ATS to be very disappointing.

From what I’ve heard this week, only the base ATS gets physical gauges.

From that point up, the gauges are full LCD.

I’d like to see Cadillac change their mind and make the LCD cluster standard.
